NASCAR signs seven-year Cup Series media rights deals 6c435v

NASCAR has recently signed a historic seven-year media rights deal for the Cup Series with leading broadcasting companies, including Amazon, Fox, NBC and Warner Bros.

With the partnership, NASCAR will be able to broadcast live coverage of all NASCAR Cup Series races from 2025 until 2031.

As it stands, FOX and FS1 will broadcast the first 14 Cup races, including the Busch Light Clash and All-Star Race. Amazon Prime Video will broadcast the following five Cup races, followed by TNT Sports with the subsequent five races. NBC Sports won the honor for the final 14 races of the season and ten playoff races, broadcasting from NBC, Peacocks and USA Network.

The auto racing company has not disclosed any financial or details concerning the deal. However, Sports Business Journal estimates the deal is worth around $1.1 billion each year.

“Our goal was to secure long-term stability with an optimized mix of distribution platforms and innovative partners that would allow us to grow the sport while delivering our product to fans wherever they are — and we’ve achieved that today,” said NASCAR president Steve Phelps.

NASCAR partners in the media rights deal expressed their enthusiasm following the announcement.

“We are proud to begin the next chapter of what will soon be a three-decade relationship with our friends at NASCAR,” said FOX Sports executive producer and CEO Eric Shanks.

“As the continued home of the DAYTONA 500, we look forward to getting every season off to a roaring start.”

NBC Sports president Rick Cordella said NBC was thrilled with the continuation of its cooperation with NASCAR. Cordella noted that NBC would use the entirety of its broadcasting platforms to deliver the “dramatic conclusion” to every “NASCAR season for what will be 17 years at the end of this extension.”
