Nick Kyrgios, the 28-year-old Australian tennis sensation, has expressed his thoughts on a potential career beyond the court as injury woes continue to plague him.

Kyrgios, who reached the Wimbledon Final in 2022, has had a tumultuous past year with multiple injuries sidelining him from competitive play.

During his break from the professional circuit, he ed the time as a commentator and pundit in Melbourne at this year’s Australian Open.

In an exclusive column for The Sydney Morning Herald, he opened up about his contemplation of life after tennis and new opportunities, such as commentary work and podcasts.

“I’m at a crossroads in my career and have reached a point where life after tennis is a prospect that excites me,” Kyrgios shared in the article.

Despite his desire to return to tennis, Kyrgios will not represent Australia in this year’s Paris Olympics. The Australian Olympic Committee and its ex-Chef de Mission, Kitty Chiller, are the reasons behind his lack of participation in the Olympics.

The tennis star was banned from playing at the 2016 Rio Olympics for his conduct, which he still feels is unfair and unjust.

As of now, it remains uncertain if Kyrgios will make a comeback to professional tennis this season or continue on his new path in broadcasting and podcasts.

One thing that’s clear is that the fire still burns within him, even if playing tennis is not his sole focus anymore.

Nick Kyrgios’ potential retirement may be a topic of discussion among fans, but for now, he seems determined to explore new opportunities while staying connected to the sport he loves.

Despite persistent injury setbacks and rumors surrounding his future in tennis, Nick Kyrgios continues to captivate audiences with his unique blend of talent and charisma on and off the court.

Only time will tell if Kyrgios’ words indicate a definitive retirement or just another chapter in his intriguing tennis career.
